Mark Cox Racing Claims Victory at the Buckeye Nationals

The Mark Cox Racing Bojangles Top Fuel team went into the race weekend at Norwalk Raceway Park in Norwalk, Ohio with a few challenges but came out on top as they persevered and won the Buckeye Nationals.
     “We had a wonderful weekend and I give much of the credit to the total team effort we made,” said rider/owner Mark Cox.  They struggled much of Saturday facing some difficulties, which gave the team a qualifying start of seventh.  “There were obstacles with the new two-stage clutch and other unexpected challenges that needed sorting out.”  Said Cox.
    Everything turned around on Sunday. The team pulled together, worked the mechanics out and did an excellent job to get in a position to win the race.  Thanks to the teams’ diligence, the bike ran beautifully without fail.  “Once the new clutch was dialed in, we were real consistent with our times” Cox stated.  In the first round they ran a 6.72ET.  As the race continued the bike got quicker and quicker with two back-to-back 6.61 ETs at 205mph and 206mph. They went up against Doc Hopkins in the final round and ended with a 6.63 ET at 202 mph for the win.
     “This is a great win for our sponsors and team,” adds Cox “We went into the weekend dealing with challenges in the clutch and came out winners in the first AHDRA event of the year.  It was a good tune-up race to go back to Norwalk in August for the IHRA event.”
     The Bojangles-sponsored Top Fuel Nitro Harley team of Mark Cox Racing will head to Martin, MI July 26^th-28^th for the IHRA event.
